Hawaii

How To Do The Basics On A Horse Made Easy With Laura

You will need: A horse/pony, Appropriate riding gear

Aim: to improve your horseback riding ability

Instructions

1.Mounting and Dismounting

• Stand on the left hand side of the horse 
• Take hold of your reins 
• Place your right hand on the back of the saddle
• Put your left hand on the front still holding your reins 
• Put your left leg in the stirrup 
• Boost yourself up.                                                                                                                        Dismounting 
• Hold the front of the saddle
• Take both feet out of the stirrups 
• Swing your right leg to the other side of the saddle 
• At the same time put your right hand on the back of the saddle
• Lower yourself.                                                                                                                      2.stopping,steering and walking on 
• Pull your left rein and squeeze with your opposite leg
• Follow the same procedure as if you were turning left but with your right hand and left leg.       Stopping 
• Pull both hands     
•  say "woah" your horse should stop.                                                                                   Walking on      
• Lighting push your hands forwards a little
• Squeeze both legs                                                                                                                                               Outcome: Well done! You now know how to do the basics on a horse!                                                                                                                

Going To Auckland For Coldplay Concert

Hmmm... yes I remember... going to the ColdPlay concert in Auckland with my brother and dad!

A couple months ago I went on a trip to Auckland for a concert by ColdPlay. The plane trip was like any ordinary trip but this time the excitement was up ✈️! We got to Auckland with heaps of time to spare so we went to look round and unpack our  stuff in our hotel. The time finally came! Dad was paranoid that we wouldn't get a park so we went four hours earlier! Ehhh, four hours of waiting ( at least we got to stand at the front row!) four hours pass and Coldplay have had some technical difficulties so another hour later... yesss it's started! It was an AMAZING concert! Full of cool lights and amazing songs! I would love to go again!!!

Plastics

On Monday the 28th of August the year sevens went to plastics to learn more about plastic and what it can do. At plastics we made wind spinners. First we picked our plastic and started smoothing the rugged edges. This included sanding and polishing. Then I drilled a hole in it so it could be hung up. The next step was optional, it was using coloured highlighters to decorate our splendid,spinning,spectacular masterpieces! I coloured my wind spinner many beautiful colours! Then it was time to cook the plastic. When it was done cooking it was all stretchy, so we twisted it in a spiral shape! It was really fun and it makes our homes a lot more beautiful!

Friday Winter Sport Uniform

We absolutely must be able to wear our  winter sport uniform out of school for many important reasons. I think you will agree after reading my statements!

We need to be able to wear out sports uniform out of school on Friday! It is so illogical that we have to wear our uniform out of school because our sports uniform shows that we are NBC students, not just any other Catholic school. With our sport uniform we are representing our school!

Whilst we are getting changed, we miss out on learning as well. It takes us on average ten minutes, that is ten minutes of valuable learning time! In ten minutes we could learn a new math strategy or have three episodes of learning Korean, if that is not valuable I don't know what is?

Getting in and out of uniform is time wasting. Why do we have to get changed  out of our sport uniform just so we can get home and get transfer into other clothes again? It is really annoying having to rush. Since we are in a rush we forget stuff like out sport uniform or shoes and have angry parents when we get home! 

To conclude we absolutely have to alter this ridiculous rule. It is such a  time wasting,  pointless endeavour. It needs to stop now and along with the rest of the senior school, I am sure you will agree! 

Change the rule!

Make our classroom great again!

Dear classmates,
You should vote for me as class captain. I will be a great class captain if you give me chance and vote Laura for class captain.

The first reason you should vote for me, is that I include myself in many school activities and that helps me to be organised. Such as house captain for example. From that I think I'm a organised person. Since im organised I will have time to help around the class.

Second reason is that we as a classroom (if I was class captain) would be strong and including. By working on encouraging each other more often. And treating everyone with respect. I will make sure that happens! I personally think that it is one of the most important things because if everyone is respected it's a fun and happy learning environment.

My last reason why you should vote for me is that I get things done! On time! So with that skill I will always have time to help! For example I can help people who need their work checked!

To conclude, you should vote for me if you would like a captain that has time on there hands! We are in here together for the rest of the year! Let's make the most of it!

We all have to leave! Mother's big, bright, oily eyes are like a flowing river of silent tears! I have to be strong, I'm on the verge of tears but I need to stay strong for my family!

We have been walking for days! On this sandy, dusty path and I am getting a rush where my hijab is rubbing on my soft, bay, fragil forhead. I can't live much longer, I'm suffering and my family are to.

Mohammed's lips look like a sandy desert and his petite, boney, dirty face looks like a sandstorm in that desert. I think he's the one that's suffering the most.

Here's a short but bad list of her most recent: Spongy Spongebob, Salty Squidward, Dora and Coraline! She quickly and swiftly escaped by triggering a laughing gas canaster and jet packing away. She has running, dusky, dung hair and a short nose like a button!  Deep, soft, amber eyes like a long cave and usually wears ragged, charcoal, ripped jeans that look like they have been pulled out of an old mine.
